Responsibilities

  • Lead proactive preparation efforts and manage evidence to reduce organizational risk and avoid penalties.
  • Partner across operations, engineering, and IT teams to drive a culture of compliance embedded in everyday workflows.
  • Identify gaps through assessments and implement effective mitigation plans to prevent violations before they occur.
  • Navigate evolving standards by translating complex regulatory updates into clear, actionable processes.
  • Support the organization’s cybersecurity posture by adhering to CIP standards and safeguarding critical systems and data.
  • Influence strategic decisions by providing insights on compliance risk and guiding investments and operational priorities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an electrical transmission organization, including demonstrated leadership.
  • Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, electric reliability, cyber security, and human resource procedures and regulations.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive audit-related managerial/leadership experience in compliance issues with regulations approved by FERC, NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE, and state agencies.

Qualifications

  • A strong attention to detail and proficiency with technology-based obligation tracking tools.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels and operating areas, including presenting to committees, executives, trustees, external regulators, and industry associations.
  • Excellent verbal, writing, analytical, interpretive, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer, fast-paced analytical work, potentially stressful situations, competing priorities, tight timelines, and frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work additional hours when necessary and periodic travel and overnight stays for attending industry workshops, training, and working from the head office.
