Nepali Interpreter, Per Diem
About the role
Job Description Regions seeks an interpreter fluent in Nepali to assist patients in their hospital and clinic settings. This position is part-time, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling as needed.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily cross-cultural communication between patients, family members, and medical providers and staff.
- Serve as a cultural and language resource person.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 40 hours of interpreter training required or within 6 months of hire for languages of lesser diffusion.
- Annual completion of department-required continuing education.
- Active Status on the Minnesota Spoken Language Health Care Interpreter Roster.
Preferred Qualifications
- 40 hours of interpreter training completed prior to hire preferred.
- Some general college preferred, especially programs focusing on interpreting and translation skills.
- Two years interpreting experience, including one year medical interpreting experience preferred.
