Responsibilities
- Cooking up natural resource evaluations and permitting efforts for various project types, particularly those involving transportation.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate fieldwork and reporting.
- Writing detailed reports and providing technical guidance to colleagues.
- Engaging proactively with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements
- National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA): Developing required documentation for Categorical Exclusions and Environmental Assessments, interfacing with agencies, and coordinating a team.
- Regulatory Compliance: Navigating federal, state, and local regulations, and liaising with transportation agencies like DOT and FHWA.
- Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Work: Engaging with engineers to integrate environmental considerations and facilitating cross-disciplinary work.
- Comprehensive Background in Environmental Regulatory Compliance, Transportation Projects, and Coordination with DOT and FHWA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in planning, biology, ecology, soils, environmental science, environmental policy, natural resource management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
- Working knowledge of NEPA compliance in accordance with FHWA guidelines.
- Proficiency in interpreting site plans, topographic maps, aerial photographs, and other mapping resources.
