Neonatologist - Research Scientist

About the Role

A senior faculty leadership position for a neonatologist scientist, centered around the Jean and George W. Brumley Jr. Endowed Chair in Neonatology. This role focuses on advancing neonatal research and clinical practice within a high-acuity Level IV NICU and an integrated maternal–fetal–neonatal continuum.

Responsibilities

• Lead neonatal research and clinical practice in a high-acuity Level IV NICU
• Advance translational and implementation science within an integrated maternal–fetal–neonatal continuum
• Develop and build research programs, recruit faculty, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration
• Leverage state-of-the-art facilities and resources at the Darby Children’s Research Institute
• Focus on areas such as lung development, brain injury, inflammation, and organ maturation
• Contribute to population-level research using a statewide referral base
• Shape a nationally recognized neonatal research agenda

• Expertise in neonatology with a strong research background
