120 shifts per year, split equally between Boise and Nampa sites. Boise shifts are 16 hours onsite (4p – 8a), and Nampa shifts are 24 hours long, with a minimum of 4 hours onsite. No call required; APP in-house at night with Neonatologist on call from home (30-minute response time).

About the Role

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG), a physician-led multispecialty group of 650+ providers, is seeking a full-time or part-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join their employed team of 3 Neonatologists and 6 NNPs in the Boise metropolitan area.

The 32-bed, Level III NICU in Boise provides a high level of care for 250+ infants annually, offering conventional ventilation, iNO, HFOV, and jet ventilation for very early preterm, late preterm, and term infants. The NICU serves families from Boise and surrounding areas in Idaho and eastern Oregon. The Saint Alphonsus Family Maternity Center delivers 1,200+ infants a year and is staffed by a highly certified L&D nursing team, OB Hospitalist service, and onsite 24-hour anesthesia (CRNA) coverage. The safety-oriented team of OB/GYNs collaborates with on-campus Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, Neonatologists, and genetic counselors.

The 6-bed, Level II NICU in Nampa (15 miles west of Boise) is clinically integrated with the Birkeland Maternity Center, which has an annual delivery rate of 1,000+ babies, and is the only NICU in Canyon County. The NICU currently provides care for newborns >34 weeks and 1,500g.

The NICU team’s family-centered approach encourages collaboration between parents and expert staff in both Boise and Nampa to achieve outcomes exceeding national benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Attend high-risk deliveries and facilitate NICU admissions.
• Co-manage NICU patients with the attending Neonatologist and site-dependent well newborn nursery patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with the Neonatologist in the NICU by providing active management strategies, including nutritional adjustments, ventilator management, lab and radiology review, and updating families.

Requirements

• Graduate from a Nurse Practitioner Program with current RN and APRN licensure; current national board certification as NNP desired. Would also consider a Physician Assistant with NICU experience and/or training.
• Current DEA and controlled substance license.
• Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC – Boise and SAMC - Nampa.
