NDT Technician - Nashville, TN

What You'll Do

• Performs visual inspections (VT) of structural welds to ensure they conform to applicable standards.
• Performs nondestructive testing using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant testing (PT) methods.
• Conducts coating inspections and testing to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and industry standards.
• Inspects structural steel and bolted connections with applicable codes.
• Follows proper procedures, performs accurate computations and documentation, and maintains cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
• Prepares daily inspection reports and communicates findings to clients in a timely and professional manner.
• Operates with moderate supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Skills

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current AWS CWI Certification preferred.
• Structural Steel experience required.
• ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Certification.
• Experience with observing Structural Steel bolting and welded connections.
• Proficient in reading of drawings, plans, and/or blueprints.
• Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills and related technology.
• Must possess valid drivers license and have a good driving record. Drug-free workplace.
• Perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs.
• Ability to operate aerial lifts and work at heights.
• Possess sufficient stamina to work in outdoor (hot & cold) environment.
• Ability to explain and interpret code and/or quality control requirements.
