NDT Technician Lv 1 - (Titanium FPI) Swing Shift - Ogden, UT

Responsibilities

  • Processes, inspects, and evaluates surface and subsurface discontinuities.
  • Accepts, rejects, or reworks hardware in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Certifies product that is in conformance with customer specifications and maintains traceability to such certification as is applicable.
  • Maintains lot integrity.
  • Communicates closely with engineers on scrap, rework, and process issues.
  • Performs penetrant, X-ray, and magnetic particle inspections and interprets results.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and calibrations on NDT equipment.
  • Operates vapor degreaser and performs the necessary process checks.
  • Processes, sorts, and verifies X-ray film.
  • Grinds, finishes, and sandblasts parts as needed.
  • Performs etch, passivation, and electropolish as needed.
  • Helps other areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Able to work in a production environment.
  • Able to read and comprehend English.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Able to write simple correspondence.
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. continuously.
  • Meets all requirements to certify in RT, PT, and/or MP.
  • Has demonstrated in-depth knowledge of inspections & components to established standards.
  • Requires ability to read and interpret specifications and a firm understanding of gauging and measuring equipment.
  • Effective communication with tact and diplomacy to achieve desired results.

Special Skills And Physical Requirements

  • Meets all requirements to certify in RT, PT, and/or MP.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of inspections & components to established standards.

  • Corrected or uncorrected color perception is required each year.
  • Uses Microsoft Office applications.
  • Passes PCC NDT certifications required by in-house Plant Level II.
  • Communicates effectively with co-workers.
  • Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures, including company’s attendance policy.
  • Mets individual productivity requirements.
  • Mets internal quality requirements.
