NDT Tech Subject Matter Expert - 27810

About the role

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled NDT Technician Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our Refueling & Complex Overhaul (RCOH) operations. This role provides advanced technical expertise in non-destructive testing methods, ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of critical shipyard components and systems throughout the RCOH lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Considered subject matter expert in technical specialty.
• May work directly with customer or customer representatives, attend meetings and deploy for special projects.
• Ability to manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs.
• Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
• Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
• Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
• Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
• Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
• May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

Requirements

• High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 8 years of related experience, to include specific systems expertise. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
• Candidate must be able to interpret and fully comprehend NAVSEA drawings.
• Candidate must have prior NDT/QA experience.
• Candidate must be able to provide NDT certifications.
• Candidate must have experiencing working in a team environment with QA and production members.
• Candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Candidate must be able to pass NDT qualifications within 90 days of employment.

Bonus points for having!

• Expertise in NAVSEA Standard Items, MIL-STD-271, MIL-STD-1689. Prior shipyard experience.

Pay

Anticipated Salary Range: $61,534.00 - $75,000.00
