This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, and specializes in innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. Core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components.
Responsibilities
- Use Radiographic techniques to evaluate the properties of materials, components, or systems without causing damage.
- Utilize Film and Non-Film Radiographic inspections to verify parts comply with customer engineering requirements.
- Perform process control tests, set up parts, operate X-ray equipment, process film and/or IP, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
- Conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards.
- Provide guidance and/or supervision to trainees.
- Perform audit surveillance on non-destructive inspection processes and initiate and document any non-conformances according to specification, process, and procedures.
- Be capable of self-direction during off-shift work periods (weekends, nights, holidays, etc.).
Requirements
- 2+ years of related work experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- 120+ hours of formal classroom training in Film and Non-Film Radiographic inspection (documentation required).
- 40+ hours of Radiation Safety Training.
- NAS 410 NDI level 2 or level 3 certification (documented proof required).
- Ability to work any shift.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Non-Destructive Testing.
- Aerospace industry experience.
- Radiographic weld inspection experience.
- Previous Quality Assurance experience.
- IRRSP certification.
This is a union-represented position.
Pay
- Pay Range (Level 3): $68,100 – $104,400, based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
- Eligible for a $5,000 Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
