Main Functions
The Rig Manager is responsible for every aspect of the rig operations, including set up, take down and moving, along with the safety of all crew members.
Job Responsibilities
- Able to work beyond the traditional 8-hour workday; available to work Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, to meet operational needs.
- Well services work is generally performed during day-light hours, Monday through Friday, occasionally on Saturday and or Sunday.
- Certain operations cannot however be completed during a single daylight period and must be continued without interruption, over several consecutive days.
- Able to work at heights up to or greater than 50 feet.
- Dependability is imperative. Reporting for work at the prescribed location and time, dressed for deployment to work, is essential.
- Unauthorized absences will result in discipline up to and including employment termination.
- Field training to coach for quality
- Enforce company policy and procedure
- Maintain accurate inventory of all prudent tools on location
- Maintain accurate inventory of chemicals utilized on location
- Ensure that cost effective decisions are made to meet company standards and expectations
- Prepare rig tickets correctly and in timely fashion to include correct pricing on rig rates, re-billable items, manage hours for crew members daily
- Review JSA’s daily, ensure that hazard identification is properly utilized and managed
- Ensure all crew members are equipped with proper PPE for the job being conducted
- Maintain communication with company representative at all times to ensure that proper chain of command is followed on decisions concerning lease locations
- Maintain contact with General Manager to ensure that proper chain of command is followed internally
- Report all health, safety, environmental and equipment damage incidents immediately
- Maintain compliance to meet and/or exceed federal, state, county and city regulations
- Aid in SSE development, promotional development, and self-development as requested by operations and safety management
- Keep current all certifications ie: Well Control, CDL, PEC Safe Land, H2S, etc. for all crew members
- Maintain lift register and records for OSHA, Lease Operator and Steel compliance audits
- Must be able to successfully perform the duties of a rig operator, floor hand, and derrick hand
- Complies with the client’s and the company’s safe operating procedures. All activities are to be performed consistent with the company’s Safe Operating Procedures, to provide the maximum protection for all workers at the work site, the environment, the equipment; and complete the tasks efficiently.
