About the role

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, designs, and implements various systems by conducting market research, evaluates new technologies.
  • Interfaces with Contractor and Government personnel, confers with equipment and software vendors, and directs subordinate personnel to take appropriate courses of action.
  • Captures and maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in cloud service and relevant application and system technologies.
  • Maintains security operations functions in support of cybersecurity accreditation – risk management framework (RMF) continuous monitoring process.
  • Writes, edits, and prepares graphical presentations of technical information.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI clearance. A TS with SCI eligibility is also acceptable.
  • Required Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in operating computer systems.
  • Broad experience with virtualized environments, and a variety of technologies supporting computing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an outstanding customer service experience in a variety of circumstances across all organizational levels.
  • Experience and Knowledge of some of the following: Windows Server, VMware, and a variety of system level applications.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with cloud-based services and environments (e.g., MS Azure and AWS DevOps environment, Kubernetes, clusters, containers).

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in technical discipline.

Skills

  • CompTIA Security+ CE required.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications preferred.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
