About the role

Provides cleaning services to ensure a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and the public. Housekeeping services are performed in accordance with facility policies and procedures and comply with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors.
• Occasionally spray buffs, strips, or waxes floors following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior and interior, and replaces with a clean can liner.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for outside windows using a ladder.
• Dusts/damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath according to center procedures.
• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.

Requirements

• None; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred.

Schedule

Full-time, 1st shift.
