About the role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated NC Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our team. As a lead teacher, you will oversee classroom activities, adhere to NC Division of Child Development and Early Education standards, and align with the NC Pre-K Curriculum objectives.
Responsibilities
- Create a nurturing and positive environment for children and their families.
- Foster strong bonds and support comprehensive development in physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive skills, and creative expression.
- Design and execute learning experiences that cover all developmental areas.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor children’s progress towards School Readiness Goals, tailoring the curriculum to individual needs, including those with disabilities.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, maintaining a secure and clean environment through hygiene, food handling, illness management, and child supervision.
Requirements
While specific requirements may vary, candidates should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- At least two years of experience working with children in a pre-K setting.
- Knowledge of NC Pre-K Curriculum and NC Division of Child Development and Early Education standards.
- Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- A master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience with special education and inclusive practices.
- Teaching certifications from the NC Department of Public Instruction.
