Job Description
NBC & Telemundo Connecticut Internships provide students with real world experience and exposure to working in the television industry. Internships at NBC & Telemundo Connecticut are paid and do not require course credit.
Pay rate is minimum wage.
Responsibilities
- Create PowerPoint presentations on business trends and actively participate in all meetings.
- Assist in pipeline management by pulling through zero share business, prospective lucrative business categories and cold calling.
- Assist digital sales planner by helping to manage all phases of the pre- and post-sale digital campaign process, including creating media plans, gathering campaign assets and optimizing campaigns.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions with sales team to develop creative solutions for advertisers.
- Generate ideas for advertisers that could lead to new sources of revenue – stay on top of current events, market trends, emerging business categories and competitive efforts to identify innovative revenue streams.
- Ensure customer satisfaction in pre- and post-sales service. Monitor the delivery of cross-platform campaigns to ensure communication between sales and marketing.
- Navigate and learn effectively through a wide variety of platforms and avenues: digital, web research, mobile, social media, sports, television, sponsorships.
- Support sales team in pipeline management via account creation, claims, and changes in SalesForce portal.
- Assisting sales marketing team in projects as designated and relevant to account executive /client campaigns.
- Provide various administrative support on daily tasks.
Qualifications
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
- IN-PERSON Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT
Desired Characteristics
- Pursuing a major in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and creative skills
- Exceptional project management, organizational and presentation skills
- Familiarity with and experience using TikTok, Facebook, Instagram
- Interest in the television, streaming or digital entertainment industries
- Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams
- Graphic design experience with proficiency in Photoshop (Final Cut Pro)
- Bilingual skills – Spanish/English – preferred, but not necessary
