Navy Aviation Ordnance Analyst (Part Time)

About the Role

SSI is seeking a part-time Logistician to support the Combat Aircraft Loading Area (CALA) Data Collector, contributing to services provided for the U.S. Navy in the defense sector.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record weapon component and aircraft-specific data.
• Support pre-flight and post-flight data collection using data sheets and enter information into an electronic database.
• Observe and record weapon performance data on a live-fire training range from a safe location.
• Travel to appropriate ranges (via private vehicle or military transport) as required.
• Operate UHF radios/scanners and interpret aircrew radio calls.
• Discern differences between weapons detonated high order, low order, or dud impact.
• Attend planning, safety, and scheduling meetings with military clients.

Travel: Possible 20-30-day deployments to MCAS Yuma, AZ. Other travel may include short-term deployments to NAS El Centro, CA, MCAS Miramar, CA, and other sites.

Requirements

• High School Diploma plus 8 years of experience in aviation ordnance (preferred) or similar experience in close air support (CAS) or equivalent field experience.
• Must be able to attain a SECRET clearance.
• Current driver’s license and ability to obtain a flightline driver’s license.
• Ability to support compensated POV travel between NAS Fallon and Bombing Ranges.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word programs is highly desired.
• Sufficient physical fitness to work on an aircraft flight line, including standing, bending, kneeling, and walking for extended periods.
• Exceptional attention to detail and legible penmanship.
• Knowledge of weapon and armament equipment, including authorized weapon load/configurations for Navy Strike Fighter aircraft (FA-18, AV-8, F-35, H-60, H-1).

Time-off should be scheduled around data collection events. Team members wear company-issued clothing when on the job.
