Naval Architect/Structural Engineer

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance, assessment, and corrective actions as tasked.
Conduct inspections and/or assessments of current ship condition and evaluate the findings of the inspections and/or assessments to determine a way forward to correct the current situation.
Answer Engineering Service Requests (ESR) and Departures from Specification (Client) when applicable.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

• BS in Structural Engineering or Naval Architecture from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) school.
  Mechanical Engineering degree will be accepted if there is a background in structural analysis or naval architecture.
  Experience in the assessment, repair, and maintenance of structure on US Naval ships.
  Minimum of three (3) years specialized hands-on experience working and inspecting ship structures, material, knowledge of welding and preservation of systems.
  Must have three (3) years general experience performing structural analysis and load requirements to comply with Navy standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Naval Architect with shipyard background.

Compensation Details

$80,000 - $89,700
