About the role
This is a full-time, on-site teaching role located in Simsbury, CT.
Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate developmentally appropriate, inquiry-driven learning experiences that integrate the outdoors and the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Observe and document children’s learning.
- Plan and implement lessons and projects.
- Create inviting, nature-rich learning environments indoors and outdoors.
- Collaborate with colleagues and families.
- Participate in regular team meetings.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflection.
- Support children’s social-emotional growth.
- Ensure children’s safety.
- Model respect for the natural world.
Qualifications
- A strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience in early childhood or related fields.
- Excellent communication abilities with children, families, and colleagues, including active listening and clear, respectful dialogue.
- An interest in and comfort with nature-based learning, including spending extended time outdoors in varied weather.
- A commitment to inclusive, anti-bias practices and supporting diverse children and families.
- The ability to observe, document, and reflect on children’s learning to inform curriculum and family communication.
- A preferred degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; familiarity with the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
