Natural Language Processing Expert (NLP)

About the role

Morfologica Inc. is a small business providing consulting and engineering services in Natural Language Processing and Computational Linguistics for academic, business, and government organizations. The Natural Language Processing Expert will support customers by applying NLP techniques, developing knowledge-based or rule-based solutions, programming NLP-related technologies, and providing consulting and support across areas such as information extraction, retrieval, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Have a strong understanding of Natural Language Processing and a genuine appreciation for NLP research
• Demonstrate ability to create lexical semantic resources for NLP-based applications
• Have experience working both cooperatively and independently from remote locations and at various government customer sites
• Have provided extensive consulting and support in the field of Natural Language Processing
• Possess a strong knowledge of taxonomies, ontologies, and their properties as applied to NLP
• Demonstrated ability to research past and current trends in anaphora resolution, lexical semantics, text generation, and automatic summarization and categorization
• Write and edit documents dealing with advanced NLP topics
