Responsibilities
- Excavates, cleans, maintains and prepares gas mains throughout the city of Philadelphia.
- Works outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Operates various pneumatic tools.
- Manually excavates with short handle and long handle shovels.
- Applies protective wraps to gas mains and service pipes.
- Uses scalers and files to clean and prepare gas mains and services for additions and replacements.
- Performs heavy lifting associated with gas main construction and maintenance.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- A valid driver’s license with good driving record required.
- A mechanical or construction background as a pipefitter, plumber’s helper or similar work experience in the gas industry a plus.
- Capable of performing strenuous work tasks while performing in an outside work environment.
- Capable of passing a Company “Operations Test”.
- Must be able to complete a One (1) Year Probationary period.
- This is a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol tested position.

Starting Pay Rate - $20.97/hr
