Nationwide Pharmaceutical Sales Associate
About the role
The Associate, Ocular Health Pharma Field Sales role is an entry-level to early-career field sales position focused on in-person engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs) within a defined geographic territory. This role executes core selling activities, builds foundational customer relationships, and drives product awareness and adoption through consistent field presence and compliant selling practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily, in-person sales visits to physicians, clinics, optometry practices, and medical offices within an assigned territory.
- Present clinical data, product features, and appropriate use information to influence prescribing behavior and product utilization.
- Secure orders, commitments, or agreements to prescribe or utilize Alcon pharmaceutical products, in accordance with policy.
- Routinely plan and execute field routing schedules to maintain strong territory coverage and high levels of field presence.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with HCPs and office staff to expand access, utilization, and advocacy.
- Support product adoption through consistent follow-up, education, and responsiveness to customer needs.
- Participate in industry meetings, training programs, and regional or national sales meetings as required.
- Conduct sample drops accurately and in full compliance with PDMA, company policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of assigned products, disease states, and competitive landscape.
- Operate at all times in accordance with Alcon Integrity & Compliance standards and applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs; M.S.)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel daily within the assigned territory
- The ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and consultative-selling skills
- Comfort engaging healthcare professionals in professional, face-to-face discussions
- Travel 100%
- Major Cities: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania
Qualifications
