National Account Manager
About the Role
The National Account Manager builds and oversees functions of our Youth Club Partnerships within our Team Sales Division. This position will focus on developing relationships with the decision makers within the youth club market and growing sales within our strategic account category, while maintaining an elevated level of service.
Responsibilities
- Own and grow relationships with our Youth Clubs and their decision makers.
- Translate into a partnership that makes SOCCER.COM the exclusive uniform partner.
- Manage a portfolio of 40+ accounts.
- Build productive professional relationships with key decision makers including Executive Directors, Directors of Coaching and other significant stakeholders.
- Build sales and prospecting strategy through market research, lead generation and quote conversion.
- Set and track revenue, profit and market share goals.
- Develop annual business plans to support continued growth.
- Manage Youth Club partner relationships including:
- Organize and present the standard uniform assortment.
- Forecast logos and product, and build out product selection.
- Direct liaison between SOCCER.COM and club decision makers.
- Serve as the main point of contact for partner questions and needs.
- Identify new opportunities through conversations with brand partners.
- Bid on business through omnichannel marketing and sales including email, pipeline software, conventions and on-site events.
- Lead our in-market and "matchday" events.
- Participate in the National Account Manager team.
- Lead cross-departmental projects.
- Mentor and work with employees through shared sales program.
- Support retention of key accounts.
Key Performance Indicators
- Sales growth for Youth Club partners. Growth can be achieved by increasing the existing partner business and/or adding new partners.
- Maintain SOCCER.COM margin goals through following pricing policies.
Travel Expectations
- Travel up to 20% is required to meet face-to-face with partners and prospects.
- Travel to the corporate office is expected 4–5 times per year.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of sales experience in team uniforms or servicing youth sport organizations, including contract negotiation and inventory demand forecasting.
- Direct sales experience with an established book of business in the youth soccer market.
- Solid experience building relationships with vendors and customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are necessary.
- Must have an outgoing personality, be self-driven, motivated, and approachable.
