National Account Manager

Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and hunting, focusing on the Mid Market and non-named National Account target market segments (companies with 500–999 employees).
- Generate and qualify new business opportunities through direct calling, email, and other contact efforts, working directly with key decision-makers.
- Complement prospecting and selling efforts with field work, including building walks, lobby events, property management relationships, and customer face-to-face meetings.
- Leverage consultative and relationship-building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
- Position Cogent’s services to help customers and prospects meet their new business needs.
- Achieve monthly revenue goals by selling into the nation's largest commercial and retail buildings, office parks, and professional campuses.
Requirements
- Previous sales experience (recent experience strongly preferred) with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and CRM tools (a plus).
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This is an in-office position requiring five days a week on-site to support mentorship, training, and personal coaching.
Pay
Starting / Initial Base Salary Pay Range: $19.23–$38.46 per hour or $40,000–$80,000 per year.
Commission: Commissions are earned on each sale based on product type:
- 50%–150% of one month’s MRCs (monthly recurring charges).
- 1/12 of one-time NRCs (non-recurring charges).
- 1/24 of Burst.
Tenured Base Salary Pay Range: $19.23–$48.07 per hour or $40,000–$100,000 per year, based on structured tenure-based and performance-based pay increases. Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by experience, education, skills, certifications, and business needs.
