Job Summary
The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture seeks a part-time Field (area) Enumerator to assist with agricultural data collection projects for the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.
About the Role
This role involves conducting customer service interviews, sales inquiries, and gathering information from various livestock and crop entities across different sizes. Projects include Farm and Ranch Resource Management, a study of farm activity on selected acres, and crop counts in corn and soybean fields.
Responsibilities
- Interviewing operations (in-person and by telephone)
- Conducting surveys related to farm and ranch resource management
- Assisting with studies of farm activity on selected acres
- Carrying out crop counts in corn and soybean fields
- Working from home and/or in the local area on a variety of assignments
- Traveling up to 250 miles on a quarterly basis for training
Requirements
- A flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends
- An hourly wage starting at $17.75+ per hour, with supplies provided and mileage reimbursement
- Continued training provided for all assignments
- Passing a background check
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, knowledge of computers or iPads
- Able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs
- Able to walk unassisted on uneven ground up to 100 yards
- Able to travel up to 250 miles on a quarterly basis for training
