About the role
The primary responsibility of the Narcotics Detective is responsible for conducting narcotics investigations on behalf of the citizens. Conducts overt and covert criminal investigations of persons suspected of violating criminal narcotic laws and build prosecutable cases for state and federal prosecutors. The Narcotics Detective must maintain a good working relationship with local and federal law enforcement agencies.

- Maintain a good working relationship with local and federal law enforcement agencies.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application with a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification or equivalent and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be a Certified Peace Officer recognized by the State of Louisiana.
- Two (2) years Law enforcement experience.

- Must possess the skills necessary to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to read and interpret various documents.
- Must be able to observe and recall details from interactions.
- Must be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively.
- Must possess the ability to learn new skills and stay current with changes.
