Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor junior team members in both design and production of architectural documents.
  • Develop design concepts for multi-family residential projects, including unit layouts, common areas, building massing, façade articulation, and material strategies.
  • Translate conceptual design into schematic, design development, and construction document phases.
  • Set up drawing sets and organize construction drawings and specifications based on NPA standards.
  • Cook up coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, and other consultants.
  • Resolve technical and design issues; develop details aligned with project design intent and NPA standards.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors; demonstrate strong knowledge of materials and construction methods.
  • Aid in Bid & Negotiation and provide Construction Administration, including review of shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and applications for payment; develop punch lists and closeout documents.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience across all project phases, including strong design experience on multi-family residential projects.
  • Proven ability to generate and execute design concepts, not just produce documentation.
  • Experience with public and institutional work is a plus.
  • Professional degree (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited program.
  • NY State architectural license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NYC Zoning and Building Codes, including residential regulations, energy codes, and accessibility requirements.
  • Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD with strong experience in construction documents and detailing.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience with 3D modeling and rendering tools (Rhino, Enscape, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team management skills.
  • Strong design sensibility with attention to detail and the ability to work under deadlines.

Qualifications

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
