About the role

The Department of Natural History seeks a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team. This position will contribute to various research projects and collections management efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain biological and geological specimens in the department's collections.
  • Contribute to research projects, assisting with specimen preparation, data collection, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external partners on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Develop and implement new methods for specimen preservation and storage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Geology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in collections management or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with database management systems is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of biodiversity and geology principles.
  • Experience with specimen handling and preservation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay

$50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
