NAC Production Technician I/II

About the role

With manufacturing sites across the US, UK, Germany, and Denmark, LGC Biosearch Technologies delivers critical genomics to a diverse customer base in molecular diagnostics, pharma/biotech, and agrigenomics. The Alexandria, Minnesota site designs, manufactures, tests, and provides service support for laboratory instrumentation and consumables, supporting customers in developing plant hybrids, food safety testing, and human diagnostic research. As a Production Technician, the primary role involves producing lab consumables for oligo manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Using light tools, setting up equipment, and maintaining cleanliness per standards.
• Weighing, mixing, handling small objects, operating heating devices, and using mechanical tools.
• Quality inspection, packaging, and updating process documentation with attention to detail and proactive improvement suggestions.
• Working independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Column Construction: constructing various column types to meet internal and external customer requirements per established processes.
• PolyFrit Manufacturing: crafting PolyFrits to satisfy internal and external customer requests per established processes.
• Conduct Quality Spot Checks: performing quality assessments per procedural guidelines and collaborating with QC team to identify and rectify issues.
• Safety: following all safety guidelines, adhering to PPE policy, and following work instructions/checklists for daily and weekly maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Offer Constructive Suggestions for Process Improvement: providing insights on process and equipment improvements identified through manufacturing.
• Support Product Pre-Shipment Processes: participating in product pick and pack to prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Other Duties as Assigned: responding with flexibility and collaboration to business needs and addressing corporate initiatives when requested by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent experience; 1 to 3 years of prior experience in manufacturing.
• Preferred: 2-year technical degree; 3 years working in consumables manufacturing.

Pay

The typical pay range for this position is: NAC Production Technician I – Minimum $20.00/hour, Maximum $28.00/hour; NAC Production Technician II – Minimum $21.00/hour, Maximum $30.50/hour. The typical hiring range is from the minimum to the midpoint, depending on the candidate’s background. Pay is determined by several job‑related factors, including skills, experience, education, and job‑related qualifications.
