About the Role
As a NAC Delivery Specialist at Interstate Batteries, you will deliver batteries and provide exceptional customer service to National Account customers and dealers within your territory. This role focuses on ensuring safe, timely deliveries while managing dealer accounts and maintaining accurate inventory.
Responsibilities
- Deliver batteries and provide service to each National Account customer on your route in a safe and timely manner.
- Load and unload trucks safely and maintain an accurate account of all company assets.
- Keep displays and product clean, full, and rotated per National Account agreement.
- Manage dealer accounts, including sales, consignment, warranties, rotations, cash collection, and invoicing.
- Complete delivery/route transactions and other paperwork on a timely basis.
- Interact professionally with all stakeholders, including team members, managers, and customers.
- Follow and fulfill all driver program requirements as specified by the manager.
- Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including battery delivery and service to non-National Account customers.
Requirements
- High school graduate (or equivalent).
- Able to read, write, and compute basic math.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
- Previous delivery driving experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools (tablets, scanners).
- Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
- Able to work overtime if requested; may require working one or more overnight routes per week depending on location.
- Must have a clean driving record and meet driver qualifications requirements.
- Must have and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
Work Environment
- Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, including moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Requires specific vision abilities: close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Involves repetitive lifting, consistent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
- Exposed to road hazards when operating or riding in a vehicle.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
