About the role
We are looking for a NA Product Manager for Superabsorbent Polymers to join our Petrochemicals team in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
- Manage pricing for the product portfolio focusing on margin management to meet and/or exceed business profitability targets as outlined in the annual budget.
- Ensure optimized use of our asset base while balancing working capital and an internal/external customer service/focus.
- Implement pricing initiatives based on market dynamics (raw materials, supply/demand balances, competitive situations, etc.) in conjunction with sales and marketing teams.
- Analyze the Monthly P&L and Cost Centers, including development of commentary for communication of results, and implementation of resulting actions to meet business objectives.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities with your BASF business counterparts in other regions where we have import/export relationships.
- Commit to our continuous improvement culture by completing training and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for the business.
- Support the Americas i.e. North and South America Marketing and Sales Team for development of and implementation of milestones and deliverables within the Superabsorbents strategy, including portfolio evaluations, market intelligence and tactical and longer-term projects.
- Work together with global product management and sales colleagues to provide input for the price and margin steering of shared Global Key Accounts across regions.
- Provide input to the global R&D community on needed product and operational characteristics of future Superabsorbents in North America.
Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, business or related degree or equivalent.
- Possess at least 3 years of experience in product management or related field to improve profitability of your portfolio related to Manufacturing environments.
- Have a master’s in Business Administration (MBA) (preferred).
