About the role

Responsibility for setup, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and automation as required for support of production and engineering efforts. This position provides support to maintenance when required for complex troubleshooting and repair. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Sets up equipment and automation as required for support of production and engineering efforts
  • Adheres to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Inspects finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications
  • Sets up and operates production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
  • Calibrates or adjusts equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges
  • Sets up and verifies the functionality of safety equipment
  • Maintains equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment, devices, or products
  • Tests products or subassemblies for functionality or quality
  • Monitors and adjusts production processes or equipment for quality and productivity
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the operational theory, maintenance requirements, and operational procedures for all equipment under the engineering support technician’s control
  • Develops and validates operations and maintenance procedures as required to ensure reliability and availability of all equipment under the engineering technician’s control
  • Tests and/or troubleshoots PLC programs used for process automation and control
  • Maintains coating chemistry as required
  • Keeps well-organized written records of all troubleshooting, setup, and testing activities performed
  • Improves process reliability and automation, where practical, to the point that production personnel own the process and require limited engineering support
  • Recommends improvements to existing processes and procedures which will increase productivity, reduce operational costs, improve margins, improve safety, and/or improve MXL product quality
  • Aids others by providing professional, technical guidance
  • Attends meetings to provide technical support and direction
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, customers, vendors and others in a courteous, respectful and professional manner
  • Conforms with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  • Conforms to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical school - preferred
  • 2 years of mechanical or maintenance trades
  • PLC and Robotics troubleshooting - preferred

Compensation

$32 - $34 per hour; Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
