About the role

The Seal of Biliteracy Coordinator position at Monroe-Woodbury Central School District aims to promote confidence, inspire a passion for learning, and prepare students to become responsible global citizens. This role is part of the co-curricular activities team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programs to recognize biliteracy skills among high school students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and community partners to ensure the Seal of Biliteracy is integrated into the curriculum.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback on their biliteracy achievements.
  • Prepare and present data and reports to the administration and stakeholders regarding the Seal of Biliteracy program.
  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of the Seal of Biliteracy database.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, bilingual studies, or a related field.
  • At least two years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and promoting equity and inclusion.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of New York State’s Seal of Biliteracy requirements and best practices.
  • Experience with digital tools and platforms for managing student data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.

Skills

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
