MV SWGR (Medium Voltage Switchgear) Product Manager
About the role
The MV SWGR (Medium Voltage Switchgear) Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle of medium voltage switchgear products, including hardware, CPQ configuration software, and start-up services. They also lead presales support and collaborate with various teams to drive profitable growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of the MV SWGR (IEEE AIS and GIS) product lifecycle management function, including hardware, CPQ configuration software, and start-up services provided by Vertiv Service Team.
- Coordination with peers to drive innovation, development, and delivery, including specializations for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Services, Edge Computing, and customized applications.
- Enablement of global routes to market to facilitate commercial success, emphasizing fit into Channel Partners' business models.
- Leverage the global Vertiv business development model along with Vertiv's global manufacturing footprint (Americas, Europe and Asia).
- Enablement of supply bases (both internal Vertiv and third-party suppliers) for competitive fulfillment across all business regions.
- Competitive assessment in the relevant market space, including technology and market partnership opportunities (make vs. buy analysis).
- Identification of emerging market opportunities rooted in technology applications, increasingly in settings facilitating cloud, colocation, and communications applications.
- Focused on AI growth in the Americas.
- Facilitation of tools CPQ configuration development, content creation, and data management enabling Customers, Partners, and internal / external stakeholders as appropriate to grow Vertiv IT solutions revenue and profitability.
- Responsible for MV SWGR CPQ Configurator list pricing and subsequent pricing management, working closely with SWGR Cost Manager and finance counterparts.
- Achievement of positioning as a 'trusted adviser' to customers & channel partners relevant to the target segments.
- Participation in industry groups like IEEE, NEMA, IAIE, etc.
- Lead and enable identification, prototyping, and validation of design improvements at the product and system level that improve performance across the system life cycle – including configuration, logistics, packaging, assembly, commissioning, operation, and end-of-life support.
- Take into consideration circular economic factors and EHS (environmental health and safety).
- Work closely with Vertiv Marketing Communications to support MV SWGR literature requirements as well as regional marketing opportunities like tradeshows (7x24 for example).
- Manage other hyper scale product solutions in the overall SWGR PL business.
- When required, and dictated by make vs. buy analysis, develop and manage brand labeling agreements to round out the overall product portfolio.
- Support SWGR Skid business as this grows and ramps up in the UL region.
Qualifications
- Demonstratable experience in Engineering / Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations and working with cross-functional teams to identify and execute on priority actions.
- Ability to drive and accept change, continuous improvement processes.
- Must have demonstratable skills with Microsoft office applications, particularly Excel. Smartsheet and Power BI experience beneficial.
- Ability to directly interface with Customers, at the executive and technical levels, required.
- Experience leading cross functional meetings and presenting to small groups, both in person and via conference call.
- NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Experience.
- Demonstrated curiosity and a lifelong learner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfortable working autonomously.
- Experience in introducing new processes to an existing organization.
- Demonstrated competence in problem solving, data analysis, & project management.
- Direct experience in the NEMA (National Electrical Manufacture Association) Low Voltage Electrical Apparatus (less than 600V) equipment space and MV Electrical Equipment Space.
- Direct experience with low voltage (less than 600V) electrical components like circuit breaker, transformers, metering, arc flash mitigation equipment, etc.
- MV Breaker experience as well.
