About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Optometric professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our practice.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary eye function testing and measurements, including autorefraction, topography, and visual field analysis
- Assist the optometrist with patient examinations and procedures
- Provide patient education on contact lens insertion, removal, and care, as well as general eye health
- Fit and dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses according to prescriptions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Manage inventory of optical supplies and contact lens inventory
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of diagnostic equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification as a Certified Optometric Assistant or completion of an accredited optometric technician program preferred
- Previous experience in an optometric or ophthalmologic practice
- Strong knowledge of optical terminology, lens types, and contact lens modalities
- Proficiency with electronic health records and practice management software
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Pay
$22–$28 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday mornings required. 40-hour work week with a rotating schedule.
