Musical Theater Instructor Evening Part time

About the role

Teach musical theater classes to students of various ages and experience levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design lessons that incorporate acting, basic musical theater dance, vocal harmony work, and foundational stagecraft.
• Develop engaging strategies to motivate students and build confidence in singing, movement, and performance.
• Stage and block scenes; facilitate rehearsals and guide students through the process of preparing end-of-semester performances.
• Absess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to support artistic growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and a semester choreographer to coordinate showcases and productions.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and risk-taking.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and manage class materials.
• Participate in professional development to enhance teaching techniques and stay current with musical theater practices.
• Serve as a positive mentor and role model, supporting students throughout their artistic journey.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a creative team.
