About the role
The successful candidate will:
- Firmly believe all students can and will learn, and that their learning can be directly influenced by focusing on factors over which we have control;
- Work interdependently with teachers, school, and district leaders to align adult efforts around improving student learning by meeting the needs, interests, and aspirations of students;
- Partner with staff to continuously improve practices that enhance student and family engagement, creating conditions for equity, excellence, and student success;
- Personalize learning for students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs to foster a sense of belonging and academic success.
Responsibilities
- Design and choreograph large group and small group numbers;
- Develop and grow an appreciation and enthusiasm for musical theater in students;
- Assist in casting for the musical, including recruitment and auditions;
- Develop the cast list with the production team;
- Manage student behavior and engagement;
- Seek opportunities for student and community engagement;
- Develop effective and efficient rehearsal schedules;
- Work with internal and external partners;
- Lead small and large group rehearsals.
Requirements
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Adaptability and strong communication skills;
- Experience choreographing youth productions and/or dance groups;
- Flexibility to work with varying ages and abilities;
- Creativity to meet each student's needs;
- Passion for musical theater.
Schedule
- Rehearsals after school;
- Production meetings weekly or as needed.
Pay
Stipend of $1,530.00 for the High School musical. The stipend may be pro-rated based on FTE of assignment. This is not a benefits-eligible position.
