Musical Director - Supplemental

About the Role

This is a 3% supplemental contract position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the casting of performers based on musical ability.
• Conduct rehearsals with performers using the vocal score for the production.
• Assist the Book Director throughout the production.
• Prepare the performers vocally for the production.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to visually monitor students.
• Regularly sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
• Good attendance and punctuality are required.
• Occasionally lift, move, or push items up to 50 lbs (e.g., assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture).
• Ability to drive a district van to transport students.
• Supervise students in all types of weather.
• Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

Work Environment

• Noise level ranges from quiet to loud.
• Work may be indoors and/or outdoors, including non-air-conditioned rooms.
• Flexibility and patience are required.
• Substance-free environment.
• Fast-paced atmosphere with constant contact with students, staff, or the public.
• Direct responsibility for the safety, well-being, and work output of students.

Qualifications

• Musical background.
• Theatre background.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
