Department: Adolescent Unit • Location: Oklahoma City (OKC) • Worker Type: Regular

Job Summary: Develops and implements music therapy treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient assessments and establishes music therapy treatment goals.
• Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of music therapy interventions.
• Coordinates therapeutic music activities for both large and small groups.
• Observes patient response and encourages socialization.
• Provides patients with information regarding resources and therapeutic music activities in the community.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's in Music Therapy or related field

Experience: No experience required

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
• Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
• Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Rare climbing.

Required Professional License and/or Certifications:

• Resuscitation Certification: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 days of employment; other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.
• Music Therapist Board Certified (MT‑BC) – Certification Board of Music Therapists (CBMT)
