About the role
The Music Therapist organizes and executes Music Therapy programs for pediatric patients (birth–18 years) and their families, helping them adjust to the hospital environment through music as an outlet for coping and self-expression.
Responsibilities
- Organize and execute Music Therapy programs for pediatric patients and families.
- Assist patients in adjusting to the hospital environment through music-based coping mechanisms and self-expression.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in at least one musical instrument.
- Previous experience with children and play opportunities.
- MT-BC (Music Therapist-Board Certified) preferred.
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff (Child Life Specialists, Nurses, Physicians, Social Workers, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain productive relationships with patients, families, and hospital staff.
- Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse populations.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently with patients and families.
Pay
Salary range: $25.97 – $41.56 USD per hour. Compensation is determined by job-related experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. Eligible positions may include additional clinical certification pay and shift differentials. The listed range reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
