Company Description Pure Abilities Therapeutic Services, based in Indiana, provides Recreational Therapy, Behavior Support Services, Music Therapy, PAC, and DHI services to individuals with disabilities through the Medicaid Waiver System. Pure Abilities is committed to high-quality, individualized care and is actively interested in connecting with therapists who value collaboration, professional growth, and evidence-based treatment.Role Description This full-time Music Therapist role is a hybrid position based in the Greater Indianapolis area, with a combination of in-person client sessions and some work-from-home tasks such as documentation and planning. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing client needs, developing and implementing individualized music therapy treatment plans, and facilitating one-on-one and small-group sessions for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. The Music Therapist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, participate in treatment reviews, and adjust interventions based on client progress and goals. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, communicating with caregivers and support staff, and ensuring services align with Medicaid Waiver requirements and organizational standards.Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Music Therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and intervention.Strong foundation in Music skills such as instrument proficiency, voice, and therapeutic use of music in clinical settings.Experience providing Treatment within structured therapeutic programs, including goal-setting, implementation, and evaluation.Knowledge of Mental Health considerations, including supporting clients with emotional and behavioral needs.Experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities in community or clinical environments.Relevant certification or licensure in Music Therapy (e.g., MT-BC) and compliance with state requirements.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy or a closely related field.Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport in one-on-one settings.Capacity to work independently, manage a caseload, and travel within the Greater Indianapolis area as needed.Commitment to client-centered practice, cultural responsiveness, and ongoing professional development.
