Music Therapist

About the role

This position provides for a clinical and evidence-based use of music to meet the individualized healthcare goals of patients through individual, group or environmental intervention. Primary location: Primary Children’s at Taylorsville, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide appropriate music therapy interventions for patients and families.
• Assist in managing and purchasing music therapy supplies and inventory.
• Manage time and prioritize patient care and tasks.
• Document music therapy interventions in patient charts in a timely and thorough manner, including initial assessments and progress notes.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the appropriate scope of music therapy within a clinical setting.
• Collaborate with medical team, nursing, and other family support service departments, which could include presenting educational in-services about music therapy within the medical setting.
• Participates in selection and training of new hires.
• Adheres to the music therapy code of ethics.
