Music Therapist

Trustbridge Hospice, a member of Empath Health, has cared for more than 200,000 South Florida families since 1978. As a community-based nonprofit, we provide 24/7 hospice and palliative care, along with caregiver support and bereavement services for families facing serious illness.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to implement a plan of care for patients, families, and pediatrics, with physician approval, utilizing music therapy.
- Provide supportive social services and bereavement services as determined by patient/family needs and the interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
- Demonstrate music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Provide music therapy and document patient/family assessment, progress toward goals, applied interventions, and clinical outcomes in the electronic medical record according to professional standards and Empath Health guidelines.
- Attend memorial services of patients for closure and support of family when appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Music Therapy from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum of two (2) years paid experience in music therapy preferred.
- Credentialed as a Music Therapist – Board Certified (MT-BC).
- Continuing education as required for licensure.
- Music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- For field-based positions: reliable transportation and proof of valid automobile insurance (a copy will be placed in the employee’s HR file).
