Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and compassionate Music Therapist. The Music Therapist collaborates with the IDT to implement a plan of care for patients and families, with the approval of the physician, utilizing music therapy. This position provides supportive social services and bereavement services as determined by the patient/family needs and the interdisciplinary Plan of Care. This individual will also provide some support to our Pediatric program (5 hours per week). What You'll Do The Music Therapist collaborates with the IDT to implement a plan of care for patients, families and pediatrics, with the approval of the physician, utilizing music therapyThis position provides supportive social services and bereavement services as determined by the patient/family needs and the interdisciplinary Plan of Care.Demonstrate a music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for Patient/Family.Provide Music therapy and documents Patient/Family assessment, progress towards goals, applied interventions and clinical outcomes in the electronic medical record according to professional standards and Empath Health guidelines,Attends memorial services of patients for closure and support of family when appropriate. What You'll Need Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Music Therapy from four-year College or university required. Minimum of two (2) years paid experience in music therapy preferred.Credentialed as a Music Therapist – Board Certified (MT-BC); Continuing Education: As required for licensure.Music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for Patient/Family.For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation, which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion.
