Music Teacher (Part-Time)

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one lessons following KeepSAfe guidelines, vocal instruction (group or solo), and other musical instruction.
  • Teach and/or lead Corps Brass Band and Singing Company.
  • Secure, organize, maintain, and provide constant upkeep of all equipment, instruments, and files of the Corps music department.
  • Facilitate student participation during “Music Sundays” (at least one Sunday per month).
  • Prepare students for Divisional and Territorial “Star Search” music and arts competitions.
  • Assist with logistics of transportation, chaperoning, preparation, and leading on competition dates.
  • Encourage and support youth participation in Divisional music and arts programs by ensuring readiness for auditions, music camps, and conservatories.

Schedule

Available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays after school hours.

Requirements

  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Must have basic office skills, including the use of computers.
  • Associate Degree in a related field or two years of college in education or youth work, or 2 years of equivalent experience working with youth and music ministries.
  • Musical ability in Brass Band, Theory, Vocal, and other instrumental instruction (e.g., Piano, Guitar, Bass).
