Music Teacher

About the role

The Music Teacher position at Smyrna Primary is open until filled. The ideal candidate must meet criteria for or hold a valid Tennessee teaching license with the specified endorsement codes: 028, 029, 240, 241, 428, 429. They should demonstrate team player qualities, flexibility, choral experience, and strong relationship-building and communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Regular attendance is mandatory, and the ability to interact with students is essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach music classes to students in grades K-5
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience
• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and community members
• Participate in school events and extracurricular activities

Requirements

• Valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people
• Experience with choral music education
