About the role

Education Through Music (ETM) is a non-profit organization that partners with New York City Public Schools to place music teachers and programs back into school curricula. We provide a bridge for teachers who are not certified to teach in public schools, helping them build their program and eventually be hired by a public school for the DOE. ETM serves all five boroughs, partnering with 50 public schools and providing music education to over 18,000 children. Music is essential for students' social and emotional well-being and a critical tool for establishing equity and success.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as school music faculty
  • Coordinate and develop the in-school music program with program staff
  • Produce two school-wide concerts each year
  • Attend and assist in school-wide functions such as assemblies, graduation, and after-school activities
  • Develop comprehensive scope and sequencing of lesson planning
