Music Teacher - 3rd-5th grade

About the role

Great Hearts Arlington Lower School is seeking a Music Teacher for grades 3‑5. The position reports to the Headmaster and is a salaried‑exempt role. Great Hearts Academies is a network of 49 tuition‑free classical schools serving over 30,000 K‑12 students across Arizona, Louisiana, and Texas. The school’s mission emphasizes intellectual and moral development, with fine arts integrated as core curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned music classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons that foster an orderly, joyful classroom environment.
• Provide appropriate academic support, monitor student progress, and collaborate with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs promptly.
• Uphold and model Great Hearts’ culture, policies, and expectations, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiate conferences as needed, and foster strong home‑school partnerships.
• Participate fully in academy life through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth and teaching excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required for a lead teaching role; all majors are welcome.
• Certification is not required for general education teaching.
• U.S. work authorization is required.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
• May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
