Music Operator/ DJ

About the Role

The Atlanta Gladiators are seeking an enthusiastic, high-energy individual to be the music operator and DJ for game days. This person will be responsible for volume control and providing family-friendly music and game-situation-specific music entertainment before, during, and after Gladiators home games using a provided, curated playlist. You will combine your knowledge of music and hockey to create a positive and fun atmosphere for fans.

The main duties run from September through April, with potential opportunities for work after April pending playoff standings. Typical shifts on game nights are from 5–10 PM.

Responsibilities

• Operate 7 Point for in-arena home games
• Work with the Game Producer on game nights to follow cues and execute requests
• Help decide what music to play for specific promotions
• Assist the Game Ops Manager in building playlists
• Download music into 7 Point and set in/out points
• Organize and upload performance music
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Understand basics of a sound mixer/computer
• Experience working with 7 Point or other platforms
• Sports experience preferred
• Ability to make quick and effective decisions
• Hard work ethic and ability to take feedback

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of the game of hockey
• Must be able to work game nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the calendar year
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to read the crowd/game for appropriate tracks
• Time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Must work playoffs (April–June) unless excused by the Game Operations Manager
