Key Responsibilities
- Design and review municipal infrastructure projects, including capital improvement, roadway, drainage, and utility projects for local townships and municipalities
- Support or serve in the Municipal Engineer role for client municipalities, including reviewing development applications on behalf of the municipalities
- Review Zoning, Subdivision and Land Development, Stormwater, and other local regulations for applicability to assigned projects
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of Design Plans, Site Plans, Grading, Utilities, and Road & Utility Profile Plans
- Maintain familiarity with municipal codes across various jurisdictions to effectively design projects and review development applications
- Attend Planning Board, Zoning Board, and Council meetings, and prepare technical review reports and memos as required
- Apply knowledge of local, county, and state stormwater management and soil erosion control standards
- Cookordination with municipal officials, engineers, and regulatory agencies regarding project status, permitting, and timelines
- Aid in managing internal project scopes of work, budgets, timelines, and change orders
- Prepare comprehensive project plans, design extensions, and contract submittals
- Perform site visits during construction to inspect municipal projects and support the construction management process
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field
- EIT certification preferred
- 0-3 years of experience and/or internship background in municipal or civil engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HydroCAD stormwater design software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills
