Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site observations of the work in progress to assist the Engineer in determining if the work is proceeding in accordance with the contract documents.
- Document all on-site observations of construction progress, manpower, equipment and materials and any and all deficiencies on a daily inspection report.
- Provide effective communication when items are unsatisfactory, faulty, defective, or in non-conformance with the contract documents.
- Evaluate field construction conflicts through regular coordination with technical staff.
- Good communication skills necessary for interacting with and providing representation as required with public, clients and/or contractors.
- Review of work and effective communication when items are unsatisfactory, faulty, defective, or in non-conformance with contract documents.
- Prepares limited construction administration tasks, including review of payment applications, change orders, field changes, and clarification and interpretation of contract documents.
- Routine coordination with Department Manager and Project Engineer as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Qualifications
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience.
- High School Diploma required; NICET/SAT certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Knowledgeable in the following: Infrastructure and roadway, storm sewer, water/wastewater, and site improvement construction projects.
- Must be able and willing to work the hours necessary to meet the demands of dynamic project schedules and the timely completion of assigned project(s).
- Knowledge of and strict adherence to all site safety requirements.
- Able to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
