POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Engineering Technician – Municipal Engineer is a mid-level position with 3-5 years of experience. This individual will provide engineering services on all phases of an assigned project under the supervision of the Project Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Contribute to and oversee civil/site design for a wide variety of projects, including parks, municipal infrastructure, athletic facilities, schools, higher education campuses, and industrial/commercial developments.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support municipal stormwater management, roadway improvements, and drainage system upgrades.
- Congduct utility coordination and support the preparation of construction documents for W/WW infrastructure.
- Assist with assigned municipal project tasks to ensure successful delivery within established scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Work both independently and as part of a municipal project team, using sound judgment and technical expertise with limited supervision.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in AutoCAD® Civil 3d computer aided design software
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of software including, but not limited to Word Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to solve problems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Prowen ability to multitask, appropriately prioritize workflow and complete tasks on schedule and within budget
- Excellent time management skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering Preferred) from an accredited four-year college or university
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) required, working toward PE Licensure
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of a Construction Observer, the employee typically works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Computer/technology is required to document and report work performed.
- The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
